What You'll Create:
Day 1
Monday, August 24th @ 8 PM ET
We’ll begin by preparing our journal pages and creating colorful acrylic backgrounds using simple color mixing, blending, and ombré techniques. You’ll also experiment with everyday objects from around your home to add playful texture and interest to your mixed media backgrounds.
Day 2
Tuesday, August 25th @ 8 PM ET
We’ll explore loose ink flower sketches as Tracy guides you step by step through drawing a Black-Eyed Susan, an Aster, and a Dahlia. You’ll focus on the shape and form of each flower’s petals while adding expressive details, with no tracer or drawing experience required.
Day 3
Wednesday, August 26th @ 8 PM ET
We’ll expand your botanical skills as Tracy guides you step by step through drawing berries, vines, and leaves with no tracer needed. You’ll then add acrylic color, shading, and expressive details to bring each element to life and give your flipbook pages depth and personality.
Day 4
Thursday, August 27th @ 8 PM ET
We’ll create a striking half-page composition featuring a large, expressive Dahlia. You’ll build a textured acrylic background, form the flower with loose brushstrokes, add highlights and shading for depth, and finish it with playful black liner details.
Day 5
Friday, August 28th @ 8 PM ET
Bring everything you’ve learned together in a vibrant, full-page mixed media floral composition. You’ll combine flowers, vines, berries, and leaves with layered acrylic backgrounds and expressive ink details, adding depth, contrast, and finishing touches to complete your colorful art journal page.
